Our Commitment: Supporting Student Success
Lassen Union High School counselors are committed to educate the whole person by providing an environment where students achieve their highest potential through intellectual and social development.
We are committed to implementing a proactive and preventative program which employs strategies to enhance student academic success, provide career awareness, develop employment readiness, encourage self-awareness, foster interpersonal communication skills and impart life success skills.
Our vision is to enhance the lives of our students by assisting in the realistic and mature decisions they will make about academic and college goals.
The Counseling Department strives to encourage individuals to grow in awareness of their potential and to become lifelong learners with the capacity to be successful in a rapidly changing world.
As a department, we seek to empower students to examine their possibilities during the high school years and to set personal and academic goals that will lead to success.
Micah Freeman
Guidance Counselor
My name is Micah Freeman. I have been working as a guidance counselor at Lassen High School for 15 years and have truly enjoyed working with the students, parents, staff, and local community. I graduated from Cal Poly State University San Luis Obispo with my Masters’s in Education with a Pupil Personal Services Credential. Directly after graduate school I was hired by our district and have worked here since.
As a school counselor, I believe in educating and counseling the whole student. I want to meet my student’s academic, personal social, and career goals and come alongside them in the process. We each have two grade levels each year and alternate so we can have the same students throughout their high school careers. This way we are able to develop a rapport with each of our students and help them achieve their goals.
If you ever have a question or concern as a student or parent don’t hesitate to contact me by phone or email. I will get back to you.
